Philadelphia defenseman Margarit makes NCAA DI commitment

September 21, 2022

The Philadelphia Rebels of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Jacob Margarit has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army-West Point in Atlantic Hockey.

Margarit, 17, is in his first season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 5’10/161 lbs. native of Chaska, MN, made his NAHL debut this past week at the NAHL Showcase, appearing in four games.

“I am very proud to announce my commitment to play division I hockey and further my education at Army West Point. I would like to thank my family, friends, and teammates who have supported me along the way,” said Margarit.

Margarit also played in the 2022 NAHL Prospects Challenge, which was played during the Robertson Cup, appearing in four games for the Springfield Jr. Blues 18U team.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Margarit played high school hockey in Minnesota for the Academy of Holy Angels for three years.
