Minot forward Westlund makes NCAA commitment

The Minot Minotauros of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Joe Westlund has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University.

Westlund, 20, just completed his second full season playing in the NAHL for the Minotauros. The 6’1/180 lbs. native of Alexandria, MN, appeared in 55 games and recorded 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists).

During his first season in Minot in 2021-22, he recorded 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) in 57 games played.

After playing for Alexandria High for three seasons, Westlund made his junior hockey debut with the Alexandria Blizzard in the NA3HL, recording four points in 12 regular season games during the 2019-20 season.

During the 2020-21 campaign, he played in the NAPHL for the Northstar Knights 18U team playing in 12 games and recording 12 points.
