Maryland forward Croxall makes NCAA DI commitment
The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Matthew Croxall has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for The College of Holy Cross in Atlantic Hockey.
Croxall, 17, is in his first season playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Black Bears. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Chicago, IL, has appeared in 16 games so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists).
“I’m extremely proud and excited to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at the College of the Holy Cross. I would like to thank my family, coaches, billets, advisors, teammates and friends who’ve helped make this opportunity possible. I’m very humbled by the support I’ve received from the Maryland Black Bears organization and supporters this season. Looking forward to what’s ahead!” said Croxall.
“Matthew came into camp and established himself right away as a smart, competitive, and talented two-way player. Coach Riga and the Holy Cross staff/players did a great job making Matthew feel at home. We look forward to watching him continue to develop on and off the ice in Maryland. Congratulations to Matthew and his family,” said Maryland head coach Clint Mylymok.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Croxall spent last season playing for the Windy City Storm 16U team. Prior to that, he played for the Chicago Fury.
