Generals and Brown Bears cap weekend with wins on Sunday
Brown Bears forward Nicholas Stevens had four points in the weekend series against Chippewa.
New Hampshire 2 @ Northeast 5 – Playing in their only game of the weekend, the Generals got two goals from Ben Campeau and 39 saves from Toby Hopp in a 5-2 win over the visiting Mountain Kings. The Generals led 1-0 in the 1st period thanks to a goal from Andrew DellaDonna. New Hampshire tied the game at 1-1 early in the 2nd period on a goal from Nick Reif. The Generals then took control and made it a 4-1 contest with three straight goals, including two from Campeau and another from Tyler Ramm. Before the period was over, New Hampshire made it 4-2 on another goal from Reif. In the 3rd period, the Generals secured the win with a goal from Frank D’Ancona. Pete Sterling took the loss with 26 saves.
Chippewa 1 @ Kenai River 2 – Marks Slavinskis-Repe made 44 saves as the Brown Bears salvaged one win of their three-game home set against Chippewa with a 2-1 win on Sunday. The Brown Bears scored first as early in the 1st period, Brock MacDonald found the back of the net with an assist to Jackson Ebbott. The Steel had an answer later in the period as Peyton Platter struck for his 9th goal of the season with assists to Talan Blanck and Scott Miner. The game-winner came early in the 3rd period off the stick of Andy Larson. Steel goalie Carter Wishart made 28 saves in the loss.
