Sunday Wrap Up: Sobush Hat Trick Lifts IceRays to Win
Colorado 4 @ Corpus Christi 5: Pierson Sobush completed his hat trick with just 1:29 to play as the Corpus Christi IceRays took down the Colorado Grit 5-4. Stefan Kuznetsov and Noah Grolnic traded goals in the opening period. Sobush netted his first of the evening to put the IceRays in front again but the lead was short live as Landon West responded less than a minute later. Sobush scored again to give Corpus Christi their third lead of the day but this one lasted even shorter as Christian Carter scored 33 seconds later to even the game heading into the third. In the opening minutes of the final period, Nolan Shaw put Colorado ahead for the first time but Dylan Jensen scored midway through the period to tie the game at four. That set up Sobush for his hat trick and game winning goal in the final minutes. Kuznetsov along with Sobush finished with three points to lead all skaters. Bryant Marks was the winner in goal as he made 24 saves. Jack Erickson was dealt the loss as he ended the night with 33 stops.
