This week, Alternate Captain and Defenseman, Cam Charron, announced he was committing to play NCAA Division I Hockey with Army West Point. The 18 year old defenseman, has totaled 23 points in 32 games played in Danbury.
We spoke with Cam about this process thus far and asked him about his decision to commit to Army West Point. “The education aspect of it was big for me” Charron said. “They have a lot of great alumni and a lot of amazing opportunities following graduation.” This is also Charron’s first year in the NAHL and when asked about committing this early on he added, “I thought it would be a longer process, but I’m happy with the way it worked out.” We then asked if he felt he had anything to improve on before beginning play in the NCAA Division I level. “Getting bigger and faster on the ice, it’s pretty fast hockey.”
Head Coach, Patrik Stefan stated, “Cam has been outstanding on and off the ice ever since he arrived. He is a very driven and coachable player who just wants to learn and get better every day.”
