Fairbanks defenseman and Michigan recruit Brendan Miles had a goal in an 8-3 win on Saturday as the Ice Dogs picked up 3 points in a pair of weekend games.

Kenai River 0 @ Chippewa 4 - Ryan Waltman and Ethan Benz were all over the ice as they each had four points in the Chippewa Steel’s 4-0 win over the Kenai River Brown Bears. Waltman registered a hat trick with an assist while Benz had one goal and three assists. Braden Lindstrom had two helpers for the Steel. Levi Gho finished off a great weekend with a 22 save shutout, his second win in as many nights. Bryant Marks took the loss in goal for Kenai River, he made 26 saves.

Springfield 4 @ Janesville 1 - The Springfield Jr. Blues earned their first weekend series sweep of the season as for the second straight night they took down the Janesville Jets 4-1. Cole Schneider scored his first two goals of the season to give Springfield a 2-0 advantage. Jonathan Panisa scored his first of the year to extend the lead. Connor Smith would add one late as well in the victory. Cy LeClerc had the lone goal for Janesville in the loss. Ethan Roberts turned aside 27 of 28 shots he faced to earn the win in goal. Michael D’Orazio had 17 saves in the loss for the Jets.

Fairbanks 8 @ MN Magicians 3 - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs exploded for eight goals as they dominated the Minnesota Magicians 8-3 on Saturday night. Alexander Malinowski led all skaters with a goal and two assists while Billy Renfrew notched a pair of goals. Nolan Cunningham had a goal and an assist while Brendan Miles, Noah Griswold, Cameron Riccota and Tyler Stewart all scored in the win for Fairbanks. Kayden Hargraves picked up his first win of the year as he made 18 saves. Cam Boche had a goal and an assist for the Magicians in the loss. Gavin Best and Hunter Longhi also scored for Minnesota. Sami Molu and Michael Bashaw combined to make 36 stops.

New Jersey 4 @ Maryland 3 (OT) - Brandon Avezov’s first career NAHL goal was the game winner in overtime as the New Jersey Titans topped the Maryland Black Bears 4-3 to earn a series split. Tommy Bannister had a goal and an assist for New Jersey while Jake LaRusso and Jack Karlsson chipped in goals as well. Ben Charette earned his first NAHL win in goal as he made 35 saves. Branden Piku notched two goals and an assist for Maryland in the loss. Ryan Bottrill had a goal and Miles Gunty tallied two helpers. Michael Morelli took the loss in goal as stopped 23 shots.
