Shutout helps Windigo capture Midwest title

Philadelphia forward Max Hamstad had the overtime-winning goal in a 2-1 win on Thursday.

Wisconsin 1 @ Minnesota 0 – The Wisconsin Windigo captured the NAHL’s Midwest Division regular season crown for 2022-23 as they got 20-saves from Maxwell Beckford in a 1-0 shutout against the 2nd place Wilderness. The lone goal of the game came in the 2nd period from Victor Widlund, which was his 17th goal of the season, with assists to Will Schumacher and Axel Begley. For Beckford, the shutout was his second of the season. Wilderness goalie Isak Posch made 25 saves in the loss.

Johnstown 1 @ Philadelphia 2 (OT) – Max Hamstad scored with 1:20 remaining in overtime to give the Rebels a 2-1 home win over the Tomahawks on Thursday. After a scoreless 1st period, the Rebels took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd period thanks to a goal from Connor Sedlak. Johnstown would tie the game early in the 3rd period thanks to a power play goal from Will Lawrence. Rebels goalie Jakub Krbecek made 31 saves in the win, while Alec Rajalin-Scharp made 27 saves in the loss.
